Thrift Club showcases perfect venue for your next event

Kipara Tropical Rainforest Retreat has become the new go-to destination for local bargain hunters after hosting its second successful Whitsunday Thrift Club Market, attracting over 200 fashion-savvy guests.

The Whitsunday Thrift Club at Kipara has become more popular than the well-known local cruise ship markets at Airlie Beach, with visitors flocking from towns like Mackay, Bowen and Townsville to enjoy 36 stalls full of designer, vintage and budget-friendly fashion starting at just $2!

After an overwhelmingly positive turnout in June, the second event in September has further boosted awareness of its beautiful facilities and offerings. The markets were set up in Kipara’s newly renovated Wajda Bimbi function room.

Mel Berriman, Kipara Park Manager, was thrilled with the event’s success stating, “The atmosphere was buzzing, with fashionistas on a mission to find the perfect item. We even had feedback from many attendees who didn’t realise we had such a beautiful venue here at Kipara.

Since the June event, Kipara has fielded nine new enquiries, one of which has already resulted in a booking, a yoga retreat for a local business. This increase in demand has also led to tentative bookings for wellness retreats focused on Yoga, Sound Bowl healing and gut health, all set to take place quarterly.

Located just 2.5km from the heart of Airlie Beach, Kipara offers a peaceful escape with lush rainforest surroundings, a large pool and a range of accommodation options for extended stays, seasonal work or holidaymakers.

“The back-to-back success of the thrift club markets is about more than just sustainable shopping; it’s also putting Kipara Tropical Rainforest Retreat on the map as the ideal venue for Airlie Beach residents and visitors for their next event,” Mel said.
